Impressions
"I loved being part of the Magdalena festival, for purely selfish reasons, the energy, excitement and enthusiasm from both the organisers and participants reminded me why I became a designer in the first place. Which was to change the world with the new voice of my generation. Among the people there I was full again with hope, that we are producing designers that are both creative and have an understanding of the social context of their work. They also know how to organise some fantastic parties."
Jonathan Barnbrook, Barnbrook Design, UK (2006)

"Magdalena is unique festival. It differs from other creative awards and competitions I’ve seen in my life. It is refreshing mixture of good organization and constructive anarchy. Her growth is coming from its non-profit character and its sincerity is seen at first sight…"

, senior consultant in information architecture and communications strategy, David Berman Communications, Canada (2004)

"I’ve been to many festivals, but Magdalena is really something special. Concept of the festival is different as it has non-profit character and it is done for young audience. Entry fee is symbolic, so the festival is accessible to young people. Magdalena is wonderful; it offers great lectures and quality competition. All we have to do is spread the voice about Magdalena over the world!
Tarek Atrissi, graphic and web designer, Tarek Atrissi Design, The Netherlands (2004)

"To all of the Magdalena crew in its widest form, from Slovenia to London to Croatia to whereever else, the Frogs give a huge croak of appreciation from the bottom of our throats. We were educated, inspired, entertained and somehow transformed."
Dylan Ingham & Didi Sutisna, Blueberry Frog, The Netherlands (2003)

"I love Magdalena! She is so diabolically better than Cannes that I hate because it is so full of itself, high flying and snobbish. And Magdalena is friendly, creative and funky, meant for young people and not old farts that go to Cannes."
Trevor Beattie, creative director, TBWA London, UK (2002)

"For the festival of young creatives it is important to be entertainment for young and celebration of creativity. Magdalena is very informal, not too corporate, very good organised and they should keep it that way."
Simon Anholt, chairman, Earthspeak, UK (2002)

"We are trying to encourage creatives to produce relevant messages which are not only decorative, but have a soul and carry a meaning that can change people's points of view. For me, being part of the jury at Magdalena was a wonderful experience. Slovenia enchanted me."
Anne Telford, managing editor, Communication Arts, USA (2003)

"We like the atmosphere of Magdalena so much that we are planning to change our dates of birth and keep coming back again and again…"
Jacek Dyga & Filip Gebski, creative director and art director, Corporate Profiles DDB, Poland (2001)

"Magdalena is still a great chick. And all of us still have a bit of crush on her."
Janez Čadež (the first Magdalena winner in 1999) creative director, Poanta, Slovenia (2003)

"Magdalena festival is one big glass tumbler of creativity."
Lazar Dzamic, digital strategist, EHS Brann London, UK (2003)
